Spectral methods for discrete time quantum walks, limit laws and recurrence

I will give an ab-initio presentation of the "spectral method" for discrete time quantum walks, and use it to discuss a number of issues, such as limit laws and recurrence. This is a possible alternative to the more popular methods such as path counting or Fourier methods.
