1978: Graduated in Chemistry,  Loránd Eötvös University, Budapest, Hungary.

1981: Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry, Loránd Eötvös University, Budapest, Hungary.

1998: Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) in Chemistry, Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Budapest.

 

EMPLOYMENT:

1978-: Research Institute for Solid State Physics and Optics of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Budapest, Hungary. Present position: research adviser.

 

PROFESSIONAL TRAVEL:

1983-1999: Post doctoral fellow or visiting scientist, altogether 3 years at the:

University of Rennes, France; University of Utah, Salt Lake City, Utah; University of Vienna, Austria; Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne, Switzerland.

 

RESEARCH:

Solid state chemistry of molecular crystals and low dimensional materials: conducting polymers; charge density wave materials; high Tc superconductors; fullerenes and nanotubes.

Fullerenes and nanotubes: recent activity since 1991; preparation, structure and topochemistry of fullerene inclusion compounds, polymers, rotor-stator phases; functionalization of carbon nanotubes.

1997-: Macromolecules, for majors in physics, Loránd Eötvös University, Budapest, Hungary.

Coauthor of 130 international publications. More than 1700 independent citations.
