The event takes place in Southern France in the small village Saint …tienne de Tineé (1140m altitude) in the Alpes Maritimes 90 km North-West from Nice. The village, shown on the front page, is at the gate of the Parc National du Mercantour (actually it is almost surrounded by the parc).

The second image on the front page shows the Lac de Rabuons (2500m). The hike from the village to the lake and back takes about 6.5 hours. One can continue to the Mont Tenibre (3031m), but for this hike it is advised to stay overnight at the Refuge du Lac de Rabuons (from there 7 hours up and down). Some participants may take up the challenge to climb Mont Tenibre from the village in one day by the end of the workshop. Apart from the most challenging hike to the Mt. Tenibre there is a variety of hikes of diverse length, difficulty and altitude.
