What is common in the theory of quantum operations and in operating railways?

The recent results and current directions of my research will be presented. These mostly concern the structure of quantum correlations and quantum as well as quantum motivated approaches to certain optimization problems. A result related to Bell-type experiments under noise and decoherence will be presented in more detail, which bears some relevance in quantum cryptography. A software tool will be presented which will soon become the basis for a cellphone application that helps to understand the nature of no-signaling correlations. The current directions of my current research in quadratic unconstrained binary optimization (aka Ising systems) will also be presented, with an emphasis on results related to the applications of such methods in railway operations research. The question posed in the title of the talk will also be answered.
