This research infrastructure (KI) covers three main types of activity: sample preparation (bulk non-equilibrium alloys, different nanostructured materials and isotope enriched samples for Mössbauer measurements), examination of bulk magnetic properties and the determination of the hyperfine interactions characteristic to the local atomic arrangement by Mössbauer spectroscopy. The experimental tools permit investigations of the magnetic properties of different non-conventional magnetic materials, thin- and multilayers, nanocomposites, etc., as well as the examination of the microscopic origins of these properties.

The KI is a member of the Network of Hungarian Mössbauer Laboratories and together with it was registered in the National Research Infrastrusture Register (NEKIFUT) in 2011.
