INSTRUCTIONS FOR PUBLIC TRANSPORT:

The public transport system is organized by BKK in Budapest, you can get a detailed information about the tickets at its official webpage.

Also, you can find a trip planner here. For your convenience, You can download this app to your smartphone: Google Play, Apple Store, Windows Phone.

We recommend, that buy tickets in advance (at the BKK Service points at the airport/train station or at vending machines because they are not available on every vehicle or in the stops (and ticket control appears randomly after the doors closed; the controllers are 'casually' dressed).

A single ticket is valid for one travel without change; the one exception is the Metro (underground) lines where you can change (there the ticket is valid for 60 minutes). A single ticket costs 350 HUF (~1.10 €). Pack-of-10 costs 3000 HUF; the company (BKK) offers different discounts for weekends; for 3 consecutive days; etc. See the Budapest Public Transport page.

From the airport Ferihegy bus 200E for the regular fare takes you to terminal of Metro 3 (blue), which you must take to get in the center. Alternatively, you might ride on 100E until its final stop Deák Ferenc tér, where Metro 1, 2 and 3 has a common transfer point. Note, if you wish to use 100E you must buy a 900 HUF ticket.
During the night (after 11 pm) we suggest to choose the taxi service.

It is important to note that Metro line 3 (blue) is under reconstruction. During the weekends and after 20:30 on weekdays you must use replacement busses under the whole line. The section from Lehel tér to Újpest-Központ is permanently closed, you must take the replacement bus for this section any time.

The easiest is to get the bus 34 running closest to the hotel, from Metro 3 at the stop Lehel tér (temporary final station of Metro line 3 operating under reconstruction) to Sinkovits Imre utca. The last perpendicular street what the bus passes by is Piroska utca, where the hotel is.
Alternatively, you can take suburban railway line 5 from Batthyány tér (the red Metro line 2 transfer point), from Margit híd, Budai hídfő (transfer point to trams 4 and 6) to stop Acquincum and transfer to bus 34.

Vehicles run till 22:30-23:00 in general. The tram 4-6 runs all night, otherwise night buses are on duty; what you need is bus 923, it goes on the line of the tram 4-6 from Boráros tér to Margit híd, and then follows the line of the H5 suburban railway. Drop off at Csillaghegy and walk down on Mátyás király út.

Have fun! If you need further information don't hesitate to contact us.
