It is a great pride of the organizers of the first EDNANO workshop that it became a tradition.
On the 16th EDNANO meeting in Florence, Italy, in April 2025, the number of attendees acheived a record of 90 persons,
who had the occasion of listening to as many as 39 talks. The number of countries that ever delegated attendees
reached 25 already by the 10th workshop. The interest in the EDNANO workshops is high, and the organization of the events

NEWS AND EVENTS EDNANO-17 - an Iberian adaventure is coming! EDNANO will travel to Madrid in late 2026 Obeying the usual 18-month frequency of the EDNANO workshops, the next event will be held in late 2026. The local organizer team will be the FINDER Research Group of the Micro and Nanotechnology Institute (IMN–CSIC, Madrid, Spain) EDNANO-16 - a true renaissance event was held! After one and a half decades, EDNANO returned to Italy. The event organized by the team of the Universitá degli Studi Firenze, Department of Chemistry "Ugo Schiff", exhibited an exceptionally rich programme, offering 39 oral and 36 poster presentations for the 90 attendees, hence setting a new record in each figure. The venue was just in the hear of the historical city center, giving a true renessaince feeling on both the professional and the social events. The EDNANO workshop was held together with the annual meeting of the European Academy of Surface Technology. |

![]() Since May 2001, the EDNANO workshop has left its childhood behind, and now it can be said that EDNANO is a self-sustaining and matured initiative. For the first time in its history, the organizer of the 12th workshop was selected from two candidates. It is the pronounced intention of the organizers to maintain the attractive atmosphere of the workshops and to increase the scientific level each time. A few researchers involved in the organization of the EDNANO events formed the EDNANO Board, the governing body of the Workshops. Board members are (in alphabetic order):
